3rd International Ibogaine Provider's Conference Vancouver 2012

Between October 2nd and 6th, The Global Ibogaine Therapist Alliance (GITA), hosted its 3rd international conference on iboga and ibogaine research and practice in Vancouver, Canada. This event consisted of 4 days of private meetings for GITA members and one day of public presentations. In addition, several GITA members offered a two-day post-conference training module (October 8th to 9th), the first of its kind, attended by physicians and aspiring lay therapists.

The Ibogaine Sessions - filmed by the Hungarian Civil Rights Union includes:

2. Dr. Alex Wodak (playing devil's advocate) speaks on the lack of evidence for Ibogaine as a treatment for heroin dependence.

Deborah Mash was invited to this conference to give a presentation on ibogaine because Israeli researchers are developing a study investigating the use of ibogaine-assisted therapy in the treatment of addiction. Ibogaine - Rite of Passage (Trailer) - Lunart Productions has published an excerpt of its documentary film "Ibogaine - Rite of Passage". This documentary was produced by Ben De Loenen and premiered at the Dutch Film Festival in Utrecht, The Netherlands. This 50 minute film explores the use of Ibogaine in the treatment of addiction and includes discussions of personal experiences by ex-addicts, treatment providers and 'experts'. Please be aware that in the immediate period following a treatment one can have a sense that all of life's problems are solved and that one is completely free. It can be a blissful experience but it can also be deceptive. Unless measures are taken to apply the lessons learned and also to unravel issues which have emerged, one can drop back into the old pattern along with it's cravings etc.
